| Abstract | Construction and Deployment of a Seafloor Drift-Corrected Pressure Gauge for Deformation Observation at Axial Volcano: This proposal will test a new seafloor marine geodetic instrument. A test deployment will be conducted off San Diego, for a period of 4-6 months. One day is required for deployment, another for recovery. After recovery and instrument modifications, a day of ship time added to a planned and funded research cruise will be required to deploy the instrument on Axial volcano + Development and deployment of a swarm of mini-floats for studying coastal physical and biological dynamics: Deploy (5) 2 meter surface floats and navigate in. Deploy and test small underwater autonomous vehicles. |
