Abstract | Collaborative Research: Plume-Ridge Interaction in the Northern Galapagos: Understanding mantle-lithosphere dynamics through geochemistry, geophysical mapping, and gravity modeling: 32 day port-to-port field work in the northern Galapagos region including 10-days of MR1 sidescan sonary surveying and simultaneous EM300 multibeam bathymetry and BGM-3 gravimeter surveys. Remaining time will be spent conducting dredge sampling and TowCam surveys of volcanic and structural seafloor features. Original ship time request was for R/V Thomas G. Thompson. Intermediate Port Stop in Puerto Ayora and Wolf Island, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador on 2010-06-03 to disembark HMRG personnel. Depart 2010-06-04. Heavy load out and offload will take place at Caldera, then move to anchor off Puntarenas. |
