| Abstract | 2012 Focus on the Future (FOTF) Student Cruise: This cruise will aim to collect geological and biological samples from the San Diego formation on a one day student cruise. The students are a part of the Focus on the Future program (organized by Birch Aquarium at Scripps (BAS), working in partnership with UCSD’s Academic Connections (AC) program). They will work with SIO staff and graduate students to deploy and recover instruments and look at and process collected samples. Samples will also be used in scientific research by the SIO staff and graduate students, once back on shore. |
